What should I wear?

Really we just want you to wear what makes you comfortable. But if you want a more clear outline for what to wear to the weekend events, here you go :

Welcome Gathering :  Casual! We assume you just journeyed from afar, so why would we ask you to dress up? Whatever you are most comfortable in.  Jeans and t-shirts are encouraged.

Wedding & Reception :  Garden Party Attire / Cocktail Attire (summer suits or business casual, summer dresses.)

Please keep in mind that the ceremony and reception will all be outdoors, on grass and under a tent. Ladies keep that in mind when you choose your footwear.  Sandals and wedges are encouraged. Also the lake has a tendency to cool down at night, I would bring a layer just in case!

Farewell Brunch : Again, Casual! We won't even judge you if you show up in your suit/dress from the night before. Don't forget your bathing suit for a quick swim before you leave!

What will the weather be like?

That is anyone's guess! The temperature usually ranges from 50 to 80 degrees in the beginning of August and there is always a chance of rain.

I am staying for the weekend, what else should I do while I'm at the Lake?

If you're here Thursday Night:  Shepards Park, Lake George has fireworks at dusk every Thursday.

The Adventurer: Check out Adirondack Extreme. A fantastic tree tops adventure course just a couple miles north of us.  We recommend making a reservation before going. For a full day of adventure, visit Six Flags Great Escape.

The Outdoorsmen (or women): Hike one of the Adirondack 46 peaks.  The closest hike is Prospect Mountain.   Rent a kayak, canoe or stand-up paddle board for an hour or two at the Lake George Kayak Company.

The Runner/Biker: At the southern tip of Lake George, you will find an entrance to the Warren County Bikeway - a wooded 9-mile long path.

The Golfer:  Top of the World or The Sagamore Golf Resort.

The Tourist: Hit the village, Lake George Village that is.  Cotton candy, mini-golf, arcades, ice-cream, pizza, T-shirt shops, bars and restaurants.

The Craft Beer Enthusiast: Visit the Adirondack Brewery & Pub in Lake George Village.

The Wine Lover: Stop in for a tasting at the Adirondack Winery.

The Foodie:    Best Breakfast: The Lone Bull Pancake & Steak House

The Crafter: Stop by the Arts & Crafts festival in Bolton Landing.

The Shopoholic: The Factory Outlets of Lake George are close by, or visit the quaint shops of Bolton Landing.  If you need a souvenir - check out Lake George Village.

The Gambler: It's prime time for the Saratoga Race Track. Go bet on the ponies.

The History Buff:  Visit the Fort William Henry Museum. Take  cruise on one of the Lake George Steamboats and learn about the lake.

The Artist: Check out the Hyde Collection.  See late drawings from Andy Warhol.

The Musician: Explore the Sembrich Opera Museum.

The Kids: Visit Up Yonda Farm with the kids. Don't forget to stop by the butterfly garden.

The Explorer:  There's plenty to do near by or on your way.  You're 40 minutes from Saratoga Springs, 30 minutes to Washington County's famous farms, and about an hour to Lake Placid, Old Forge or Fort Ticonderoga.
